Madam Bond is back

This time as Justin Bond… at the Soho Theatre in November.

‘For his latest glitter encrusted extravaganza, an eclectic collection of songs and stories about life as a trans person, Bond mixes high camp, haute couture and heady references. The effect is dizzying, riotous and unexpectedly moving; for all his superficial fabulousness, Bond’s emotional nakedness is what makes him fierce.Time Out New York

Hmm, we’re not convinced but should check it out anyway. Soho Theatre

Pretty Lady

Not a word usually associated with Mrs Beckham, but now she has a new hairdo and it’s lovely. Bless her.

It’s a shame a new hairdo doesn’t work for everyone. The usually gorgeous Natalie Imbruglia has tried too…bless *her*. It doesn’t really work.

Start saving

Babs is performing at a fundraiser in suport of Barracks presidential ambitions on 16 September. She does seem quite keen on the Democrats.

Streisand endorsed Obama after he secured the nomination in June. She had endorsed Hillary Clinton in the primary, and appeared and spoke at a fund-raiser for her in January. She also sang at a concert for John Kerry in 2004 and Al Gore in 2000.

Britney’s back

It’s the MTV VMAs on Sunday and Britney is going to be opening the show. Hooray. We enjoyed her last bit at the VMAs so much. The Sun is also reporting the Christina is going to be performing too. It’s like a flashback. The Sun

Pete Doherty is still alive

Some Austrian nonce revived him after a suspected drug overdose. Well that’s what The Sun reckons anyway. Tosser. The reviver and the revivee.  The Sun

Sticky & Sweet Tour - The Verdict, The Good & The Bad

homofactual.com is nothing if not impartial. So instead of writing a full “review” of the concert last night (there’s PLENTY of those elsewhere) we thought we’d list the 5 best and the 5 worst things about the show.

The Good

1) Madonna’s thighs
2) The Keith Haring inspired video montage
3) Like a Prayer rave stylee - hands in the air, like you just don’t care
4) The house piano piece of Vogue, kept in tact
5) Devil Wouldn’t Recognise You visual effects

The Bad

Don’t read this bit if you’re one of those gays who can’t stomache criticism of the queen of pop.

1) The sausage like factory producing these tours every two years, who is she, Cher?
2) The Britney Video - derivative and dull
3) The M&S style extra support silver bra
4) Cardiff
5) The CGI video sequences, not a patch on Re-invention

A special mention should go to him for making the show that bit more special.
