The first ever gay pride event to happen in Delhi took place on the weekend.
Gays, lesbians and transgender people gathered in the central Connaught Place area in what was the country’s largest ever display of gay pride.
Activists also marched in the cities of Calcutta, which has seen similar events in the past, and Bangalore.
The marchers were demanding an end to discrimination in a society where homosexuality is still illegal.

I’m horrified! So some little turds complained about the new gay Heinz advert and now it’s been taken off air. AND the complaints were not that the ad was bad but that it was gay. Apparently people were made uncomfortable at having to explain same sex relationships to their (undoubtedly) in-bred children. The AP.
For fuck’s sake. Now a bunch of folk have signed a petition to have the advert reinstated. I wouldn’t go that far (it sucks) but as a matter of principle, Heinz should be ashamed of their cowardly response.
A school in Thailand has created a third bathroom for their large number of lady boys.
A secondary school in north eastern Thailand has designed a new bathroom for its growing community of transvestites.
The “transvestite toilet”, designated by a human figure split into half man in blue and half female in red, has since been used since class started last month.
“I am so happy about this,” student Vichai Sangsakul told Thailand’s PBS news channel on Tuesday.
“It looks bad going to female restrooms. What would other people think?”
