Don’t diss the gays
A US federal judge has ruled that a school in San Diego did not violate a students freedom of speech when removing him from class. The shirt said “I Will Not Accept What God Has Condemned” on one side and “Homosexuality is Shameful, Romans 1:27″ on the other. He wore it during a special Day of Silence aimed at teaching tolerance of gays and lesbians.
A legal battle has ensued. The appeals court said schools could ban speech judged demeaning to other students who had to be insulated from “psychological attacks that cause young people to question their self-worth and their rightful place in society.”
