Gay and lesbian’s marrying under pressure
Gay activists have expressed concern that gay and lesbian Asians living in the UK are often under so much pressure to conform to traditional roles that they are getting married to people of the opposite sex.
“In my culture it’s not acceptable to be gay. If I have a marriage of convenience it will give them the illusion that I’m straight and I can carry on with who I want.”
