Church still interfering with Spanish Politics
The battle between to the Spanish Government and the Catholic church is heating up, again.
Spain’s ambassador to the Vatican met with Church officials over the weekend to protest about interference in the country’s elections by the country’s bishops.
The Spanish Bishop’s Conference issued a statement last week saying, “Catholics may support and join different parties it is also true that not all (electoral) programmes are equally compatible with the faith and Christian demands in life.”
It’s hardly surprising that the church would want to influence the vote, the alternative is to allow same sex marriage, abortion etc. They’re conservative and paranoid about losing power over their members.
