The number of gay marriages (civil unions) in the UK is on the decrease. 55% fewer took place in 2007 than 2006. The law was changed to allow civil partnerships in Dec 2005. It’s likely that the demand was greater in the first few months of the legislation due to a build up of people wanting to get hitched. The Guardian (bless ‘em) have a few theories. The Guardian
